WHERE WE CAME FROM

The band originated from an idea the drummer had as a young 13 year old boy in 1976 from the South Side of Chicago. He created a cartoon drawing of his idea for a band depicting ALL of the band members with long beautiful hair down to their waist playing their instruments and jamming out to the song “Free Bird”. 

 

Without even knowing or even having any idea about what was getting ready to take place -  7 years later the 80’s Hair band scene was about to erupt and come to lite. With that dream still envisioned in his head he watched and listened to numerous cover bands playing 80’s music night after night.  After 44 years he still wanted to chase that dream and to be different from the rest of the bands playing 80’s Hair music but he wanted to be different and play music that nobody else was playing. Out of that mindset and imagination 44 years later….. Hair Power Cover Band was created.
